Dr. Scott Edington
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Scott Edington provides executive leadership and oversight for Deep Labs. Edington’s career spans over two decades of creating next generation technology capabilities in the Payments, Defense, and Intelligence sectors.
Prior to co-founding Deep Labs, Edington served as the Global Head of Research & Development for Visa Inc. Edington played a critical role in both the formulation and execution of Visa’s innovation and technology strategies and served as a member of Visa’s Architectural Leadership Board (ALB). Edington most recently served as Visa’s representative to the International Organization for Standardization/IEC JTC1 (Study Group on Big Data).
Prior to joining Visa, Edington was a technology executive at Booz Allen Hamilton where he ran the firm’s Technology Injection (emerging technologies) practice. In this capacity, he was responsible for all of Booz Allen’s technology injection, R&D, strategic prototyping, and knowledge management & information sharing efforts. Edington also directed the firm’s external technology relationships with Academia, National labs, the vendor community and various technology incubators.
Edington holds degrees from the University of Virginia and Johns Hopkins University; and industry certifications in the areas of security, strategy, and network computing.
& Product Officer
Michael Lynch serves as Chief Strategy and Product Officer for Deep Labs. He is primarily responsible for leading Deep Labs product and market strategy. In this new role, Lynch will work across industries such as financial services, payments, retail and government, to further solidify Deep Lab’s position as the standard for AI and persona-based intelligence.
Lynch was previously the Chief Strategy Officer of InAuth, Inc., where he was responsible for company and product strategy, as well as served as the Global Marketing Director and Head of Public Relations and Media. Lynch was part of the executive leadership team that led the startup company to acquisition by American Express in December 2016.
Prior to that role, Lynch spent nearly 15 years with Bank of America, including senior vice president roles, responsible for authentication strategy, consumer protection, change management and technology. In his last role as Senior Vice President, Online/Mobile Security & Authentication Strategy he developed the multi-generational roadmap to authentication and security strategies which include out-of-band, multiple one-time passcode, biometric technologies, device asserted identity, risk engine evolution, and innovative challenge/response methods for step up authentication. He also acted as the project sponsor for critical initiatives to protect the customer and the company reputation, balancing the needs of all affected areas in a way that delivered key business objectives on time and on budget. Prior to Bank of America, Lynch specialized in information technology in various financial services, Fortune 500, and consulting services roles.
Chief Science Officer
Patrick Faith’s distinguished career spans over three decades of creating next generation technology capabilities in the Payments, Defense, and Intelligence sectors. Faith currently serves as Deep Labs’ Chief Science & Technology Officer providing thought leadership, direction and hands-on development on Deep Labs’ extreme-scale data and processing platforms.
Prior to co-founding Deep Labs, Faith served as the Chief Technology Advisor for Visa Labs, the advanced Research and technology incubation arm of Visa Inc. In this capacity, he established an incubator and two global research facilities. His leadership in implementing the first Hadoop systems at Visa directly led to the creation of the Visa Central Analytics Environment which all of Visa’s Fraud and Data Product capabilities leverage. Faith holds the most patents in Visa Inc. history and was most recently awarded his 167th patent. In 2014, Visa Inc. named Faith Distinguished Engineer and Fellow. This title, the first and only of its kind at Visa Inc., represented the culmination of two decades of technology leadership in the Banking and Payments spaces.
Prior to Visa, Faith operated as a lead developer at Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Development Programs primarily serving the US Defense and Intelligence Communities. In this role, Faith participated in the capability development of Artificial Intelligence systems, robotics, virtual reality, material science and sensor networks.
Head of Engineering
Jiri Novak is a top performing technology leader with over two decades of financial services experience. Novak’s expert leadership of large-scale data platforms has directly impacted critical decision making, operational quality, performance, and profitability at major organizations including Visa and JPM Chase.
Novak is Head of Engineering at Deep Labs leading all aspects of software development including architecture, design, platform security, client engagement and technical support.
Prior to Deep Labs, Novak worked as the CTO at Uphold (formerly Bitnet) where he was leading next-generation data products including architecture, R&D, design, mining/analytics, and development. Novak also worked as a Chief Data Architect at Visa leading the merchant services data platform vision, architecture, and implementation with a focus on security, scalability, and resiliency and at JPM Chase leading design and delivery of analytical services and financial data products.
Novak holds a Master’s degree from Czech Technical University; and certifications including but not limited to SCPM (Stanford Certified Program Manager), Cloudera Certified Hadoop Administrator, OCP (Oracle Database Certified Professional), and Teradata Certified Professional.
